How to Learn Reiki
Out of all the healing systems, Reiki is the simplest, easiest and the only one that everyone, male or female can learn and practice at any age. No special educational, intellectual or spiritual level is required to learn or practice. Once you decide to learn, just find a Reiki teacher, get the appointment, go and learn. You can learn each level in just one sitting of few hours except Teacher’s level, which takes longer time.

How Reiki is taught?
Reiki is not taught like other healing systems. It does not involve regular classes for weeks or months, conventional tests and examinations. The healing ability is transferred to the student personally by a living Reiki Master/Teacher through a special process called attunement. This process activates energy channels of the recipient’s body, which instantly creates a Reiki healer. The energy channels then remain active throughout the life span and the healing ability is never lost. Learning and using Reiki is so simple that many people tend to disbelieve it. Since Reiki is nonphysical in nature, it is not to be evaluated like other healing systems. The person, who has an understanding of metaphysical and paranormal subjects, would find it easier to understand but true understanding and enjoyment comes by learning and using it.

Reiki Attunement
The process of attunement (also called empowerment or initiation) is what makes a person Reiki healer. It is a ritual performed by the Reiki Teacher in a special manner meant to activate energy channels. Each attunement takes only 15 to 20 minutes and is a very powerful process. The student is asked to sit on a chair with eyes closed and remain fully conscious during the process. During attunement, generally the top of the head, hands and shoulders (may be) are touched but actually every teacher has his/her own way of attunement. One thing is common however, that no equipment or machine is used to pass the attunement. As soon as the process of attunement is completed, the recipient becomes a Reiki healer and can begin giving healing sessions. The attunements are permanent in nature. Once attuned, the healing ability of the recipient is never lost; it stays for the lifetime. There are different attunements for each Reiki level.

After the Attunement
Learning Reiki does not end up with attunement, which is in fact just the starting point. If you continue to use Reiki, the self-development continues throughout the life span. During the development, you can effectively use Reiki symbols as a great tool for support. It is up to you how you benefit from it. You might like to learn new techniques or develop your own and excel as much as you want to. Sky is the limit.
