Contacting and Working with Reiki Guides

This article is basically meant for the students of Reiki Second Degree but those who have taken just the First Degree Reiki may also find it useful.

The concept of Reiki guides was not originally taught by Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi and Mrs. Takata in Reiki training. It has been added later and now many Reiki Master/Teachers include it as a topic in the syllabus for Reiki training.

Basically all of us have guardian angels appointed with us. Whether or not you are a Reiki healer, they are with you. In fact they are with you right from the birth. They are invisible entities who remain and work with us throughout our life span. The number of guides may be different for different individuals. Some of us may have many of them. They are fully positive beings and their purpose is to guide us through, which they do in different ways including creation of thoughts in our mind. It is up to us to understand the guidance, accept that or reject. They don't force us to follow the advice. Since their job is to guide and help us in our positive works, they must be respected.

Reiki is a positive energy, and the Reiki practitioner does the Reiki work with positive intentions, for good of the recipient. Therefore, in healing sessions, our guides may appear and help us as soon as the healing session begins. It is possible to make conscious contact with them, enjoy their company and work with them. Ability to work with Reiki guides develops mainly after you receive attunement for Reiki Second Degree but remember that attunement does not give you automatic ability to consciously feel their presence; you have to work for it before you can establish conscious contact with them..If you are a Second Degree Reiki practitioner, your teacher must have taught you the technique to contact the Reiki guides. Practice that technique to make conscious contact with them. As the contact is established, their presence might become obvious. It may take some time and regular effort depending on how you do it.

Reiki guides are fully positive and friendly entities but remember that they are not our servants. They are our personal guides but are not to be commanded. You must only ask for the help, not demand it. If you have been able to contact them, you can feel their presence in different ways. During Reiki treatment sessions, you can request for their assistance and feel them working with you. They even guide you during healing but it would be better not to tell the recipient that invisible guides are working with you. If you do, it might simply frighten the recipient or you might have to give lengthy explanation, which is not necessary for the recipient to know or understand.

Please remember that guides would not do everything for you. Also remember that they never support negative intentions. So never ask for a wrong thing. In fact, they try to tell you in their own way that you are doing something wrong and then leave it to you to accept their suggestion or go on with your negativity. They do not force you to do something of their choice. If you ask for something illegitimate, the chances are that they would disconnect and not come in your conscious contact again. You may no longer be able to get their assistance.
